We’ve been exploring narrative texts in P3D and talking about how stories are structured. We read the Ancient Greek myth of Icarus, the boy who flew too close to the sun. Then we watched a video of the story. After that we worked with a partner and drew pictures for a “story mountain” to help us break the narrative up into different sections. Finally, we had a go at writing our own versions of the beginning of the Icarus story, introducing the setting and the characters, complete with lots of exciting adjectives.
