In Numeracy we have been learning how to create a bar graph, working on different ways to make 5 and practicing subtraction within 10. To help us add and subtract we have been learning how to use a number line.
We have enjoyed coming together as a class to read the focused stories and discussing describing words for the different characters in the book. Sometimes we work in pairs to sound out and write 3-4 letter words. We have also been practicing the formation of our sounds outside the classroom during forest school.
During outdoor play, we were busy making leaf soup in our new outdoor kitchen, building cars, testing our balance on the trim trail and building in the construction area. There are lots of opportunities for us to work as a team and use our imagination.
We had lots of fun with Róisín Whyte over the past few weeks who visited school in conjunction with, and funded by, the Strand Arts Centre. Róisín did simple music activities to show us how to use our voices in different ways and taught us some lovely songs.
