Nursery Sapling Visitors

23rd Feb 2024

We loved having Wee Critters in to talk to us about the importance of caring for all creatures big and small. We were able to stroke lots of creatures including an owl, a tortoise and a hedgehog. Science Starz also came to help us complete a range of experiments. We loved wearing the white lab coats and using real beakers and test tubes. We were able to make our liquids change colour and change state. This was an amazing way to help develop our Thinking Skills!

We have also been learning even more about dinosaurs and have been searching for dinosaur footprints during Forest School. We made dinosaur fossils and used the blow painting technique to mix colours on our volcanoes.
Outside we have been making a range of love potions and concoctions and we also made some tasty treats with mud and log slices. To celebrate Pancake Day the children all worked hard to make their own pancakes. We loved adding our own toppings and then gobbled them up. One way we celebrated Maths Morning was by counting how many times we could toss our pancakes into the air before catching them in our pans.
