Nursery Forest School - Hedgehog Hunt

8th Oct 2024

We have started our Forest School lessons in Nursery. We learnt about the boundary flags and how they help to keep us safe. We went on an exciting adventure to find some missing hedgehogs! Whilst exploring we sang songs and rhymes about hedgehogs. We had to work as a team to find them.

Social benefits: We are learning to build friendships and cooperate.

Physical benefits: We are developing our gross motor skills, balance, and coordination as we climb, run, and interact with our environment.

Intellectual benefits:  We are problem solving and asking questions.

Communication benefits: We are promoting our language development as we express ideas and listen to others.

Emotional benefits: We are developing our confidence and resilience.

Once back in Nursery, the children learnt some facts about hedgehogs. They used junk materials to build hedgehog homes and created their own handprint hedgehog paintings.
