Minibeasts and Eco Week with the Seedlings!

22nd Apr 2024

We have been learning all about Minibeasts. We read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and we are looking forward to observing our caterpillars in Nursery over the next few weeks. We made salt dough bugs and caterpillars at Forest School using lots of natural materials. We used magnifying glasses to go on a bug hunt. We found lots of wiggly worms at the bottom of the garden. Alan from “Wee Critters” came to visit us again and he taught us some interesting facts about different creatures.

We had Eco Week in Nursery. We discussed the importance of recycling. We brought in boxes and plastic bottles to re-use at the creation station. We had a visit from Belfast City Council who spoke to us about using our recycling bins at home and she read us “Mr Rats recycling story.” We went on a litter pick around the school grounds and we got to bring Eco Bear with us!
