Eco Week 2024

Meet one of our Eco Committee members - Eddie. He is our Eco Bear. Eddie was once a plastic bottle! Plastic bottles are shredded into pellets, pellets are turned into yarn and fabric and then…ta da: our Eco friend was born!

Eddie has been particularly busy this week as he has been joining in with all of the fun Eco activities! He loved Wednesday morning as he got to scoot to school on his scooter. He wasn’t late for school that morning!

During our Eco Week we have been learning how to help our environment and keep it beautiful. We had a lovely visitor from Belfast City Council who taught us all about recycling. We also planted lots of wonderful things in our allotment - potatoes, nasturtiums, french marigolds, sweet pea, herbs, courgettes, broad beans and salad leaves.

To help our school stay tidy we also did a litter pick using special litter pickers. We had fun using those!
