As part of our farm topic we were thinking about animals and the food they produce. We thought about how we get milk from cows and how many other products come from that milk and cream. We decided we would try to make our own butter! We used extra thick cream and had to take turns shaking the jars, lots and lots of times! We put on some music and had lots of fun doing this. We watched as the thick cream separated and became like liquid with yellowish clumps forming in it. When we poured the mixture through a sieve we had buttermilk and lovely creamy butter. We added a little salt and then spread the butter onto cream crackers and tasted it…delicious!! 😋😋
