An exciting start to our new topic in P3H
We have immersed ourselves in our new topic of Transport and are excited for many more wonderful learning opportunities to come.
Within Numeracy, we developed our ability to manage information during a traffic survey. We planned how we would carry out our survey, which method of recording to use and discussed our findings in the outdoor classroom. Back in class we extended our recording skills further by completing a transport tally and bar chart. We then built on these skills by completing a car colour survey and presented our data using an app on the iPad.
During Literacy, we enjoyed a transport riddle game and then created our own transport riddles for our favourite modes of transport. We extended our reading skills by reading our allocated books about transport on EPIC and enjoyed playing a fun and competitive transport quiz on Booklet!
During Activity Based Learning, we drew from observation and painted pictures of emergency vehicles. Our teacher then set a challenging activity to use wooden wheels, a wooden stick to create an axel and other materials to make a base for a moving car. Once our base was made we got to create a vehicle of our choice from Lego. During outdoor learning we worked in groups to create a road system. We needed a roundabout, T junction and crossroads.
We were excited to design our very own racing jacket for the BEEBOT which we will then use to plan and record routes for our racing BEEBOT to travel.
Excellent learning P3!
