What a week it has been in Dundela.
We were all deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Elizabeth ll, our Queen. Shortly after the news arrived though an exciting invitation arrived for Mrs Bettes to be involved in the service at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, that would be attended by His Majesty, King Charles. She had the great honour of singing in the choir on Tuesday when King Charles was here. It was a wonderful experience.
On Wednesday a special letter arrived.
In June when we celebrated the Jubilee, P2 made some fabulous cards for The Queen and Mrs Bettes carefully packaged them up and posted them off to the Palace! In recent days we thought we had missed out on a reply but it turned out it had been sent just before her death, delayed by the postal strikes! We are honoured to receive this lovely card and a letter from Her Majesty’s Lady - in - Waiting. 👑
