3..2..1….BLAST OFF!!
We started our topic on space and what a blast it has been! In forest school we designed our own space rockets using natural materials. We dressed up as astronauts, designed and constructed space ships, aliens and astronauts.
As part of numeracy, using positional language, we experimented with beebot for the first time. The children were excited to see if beebot would arrive at the correct planet. In literacy, we worked in groups to describe and write a sentence about our alien picture. We explored the solar system, talked about famous astronauts and what it would be like to live in space. We learnt a fun song helping us to remember the order of the planets and we even created our own rocket in the classroom!
